His books include biographies of baseball’s Larry Bowa and Tony Gwynn, and he’s currently working on a project about the 1984-era San Diego Padres. Bloom has a master’s in broadcast journalism from San Francisco State University. He has a beautiful and erudite wife, Alicia, of 34 years; two accomplished adult children, Raphael and Joanna; and three beloved grandchildren, Fox, Cortez and Cruz. His life and success would not be complete without all of them.
